Well, it was bound to happen. There has been a lot of downtime recently. And I do have to say, it’s not my fault. Dreamhost has been having “network problems”. Feh. I’m fed up with Dreamhost. I’ve had way too many problems with my websites this summer (and last summer too for those of you who listen to Nerd News Radio). I’ve been down I think twice in the past 7 days.Â
So, I have to be proactive. I’ve made the decision. I’m moving to Media Temple. I’ve heard such good things, I just can’t look away. Of course, as with all hosts, I’ve heard bad things too, but I’m willing to make the leap. I called them today using the phone number on their website, almost no wait time (just ringing for 7 or so seconds), and the man I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable. He didn’t need to go look at notes or anything. So far I’m impressed. Â
Over the next few days, expect downtime on www.kabrenlevinson.com (including this blog, sorry) and www.nerdnewsradio.com . Thankfully, I have my domains registered with GoDaddy, and I won’t be changing that anytime soon. So all I have to do is transfer all my data and databases over to Media Temple once I create an account. I’ve already begun the process of backing everything up.   My email may also be out of commission. Who knows. Catch me on Pownce if you’re on Pownce. Peace.
